Spring Term PTA Newsletter16 March 2020 (by admin) |
The purpose of this Newsletter is to keep parents up to date on the activities arranged by the PTA and also to give you a list of events/ dates for your diary each term.
We would like to give a huge thank you to parents for supporting the activities held in the Autumn term. Firstly, the Harvest Festival Hampers. We were completely overwhelmed by the amount of donations received and spirit in which the teachers and children used the donations to produce hampers and the foodbank were hugely grateful.
Thank you for your support on the run up to Christmas. It is always a very busy time and we do appreciate there is a lot going on. The entries to the Jam Jar and Christmas Decoration competitions were amazing and George, our judge, found it really difficult to pick winners.
The Christmas Market & Grotto, was a new event for us, replacing the Christmas Fayre. Santa and his elves thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many lovely families and the whole event was a great success and excellently supported – so thank you!
Our final events of the term were the Infant Panto, Juniors Panto trip and Junior disco. The PTA funded a pantomime performance in school for the Infants and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. Not wanting to leave out the Juniors, we also funded the coaches for their panto trip.
This term we have introduced a Sponsored Read in conjunction with Usborne Books, around World Book Day. Hopefully, all children enjoyed joining in and raising money to buy more books for the school. It was delightful to see everyone in their Onsies/PJs!
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
All of the events and fundraising rely on volunteers to be successful. The future of our School Fayres are in jeopardy unless we can get more volunteers. You do not need to attend all our meetings or get involved in the organisation. We just need
you to give up an afternoon of your time twice a year to help us. We are hugely grateful to those few Mums who do help, but we need more Mums, Dads, Uncles, Aunties or Grandparents! If you think you can help please leave your details with
the school office and we will be in touch. The date for this year’s Summer Fayre is 26th June.
Upcoming Events
Easter Celebrations
As Easter is such an important part of the Christian calendar, we had planned a week of Easter celebrations including:
Easter Disco (Year 3-6) , Easter Parade (with homemade hats, bonnets, caps etc.), Easter Service, Tree planting event. However, due to the school following the next phase of their Covid 19 Continuity Plan, unfortunately pre-Easter events have been cancelled. We look forward to a return to normal practice as soon as possible and am sure you will understand the necessity for these precautions.
Bags2School:
The next date is 15th May 2020. This a great opportunity to raise funds for the school by having a good clear out! More information will follow soon.
The Great Coleshill Primary School Bake Off:
After the success of last year’s event, we will again be holding the Great Coleshill Primary School Bake Off. For those new to the school the clue is in the title and full details will be released very soon! This event will be held w/c 18th May.
A date for your diary:
