Supporting your child's mental recall of maths facts
For children to get the most out of their numeracy lessons, it is important for them to practise their mental recall of basic facts at home. If children are confident with their times tables and number bonds as well as facts about time and measurement they will find it easier to work with numbers in the classroom.
The school has introduced the Maths Passport to put a real focus on mental recall. To encourage children to be confident with numbers, the Maths Passport gives a set of targets with examples and questions you can ask to test their knowledge. Each set of targets broadly relates to each year group, but children can move ahead or review previous targets according to their ability and confidence.
