The spring term was relatively quiet for the PTA. The Easter competitions were fantastic as always. The amount of entries and the quality of entries was exceptionally high. I’m just glad that the PTA don’t judge this as I wouldn’t like to have had to choose winners!

All of the events and fundraising rely on volunteers to be successful. Unfortunately, the future of our school fayre is in jeopardy unless we can get more volunteers. You do not need to attend all our meetings or get involved in the organisation. We just need you to give up an afternoon of your time twice a year to help us. We are hugely grateful to those few mums who do help, but we need more Mums, Dads, Uncles, Aunties or Grandparents! If you think you can help, please leave your details with the school office and we will be in touch.

Upcoming Events

Summer Fayre – Friday 28th June 2019

The Summer Fayre is the highlight of the summer term. It takes place straight after school and weather permitting is on the playground and school field, with refreshments available in the hall. You can expect to see a bouncy castle, ice lollies, balloons, games, hamper raffle, raffle draw and much more. This year the fayre will include the official opening of the newly refurbished school library, with the children’s author Daniel Thompson cutting the ribbon.

We always need more helpers to assist with the stalls, so if you feel you can help please get in touch.

White Elephant items such as toys, books, games, bottles and unwanted gifts are to be bought in to school on the morning of Friday 21st June 2019. These can be taken into classrooms at the start of the day and passed onto members of the PTA in the hall. As a thank you for donating, there is a free of charge own clothes day.

Summer Raffle

Our summer raffle has been launched and tickets sent home with each child. Should you require more tickets you can get these from the school office, or by completing the form which has been sent home with your child. Raffle tickets will also be on sales at sports days.

The top two prizes for the raffle are a spa day and a child’s scooter, with many more prizes up for grabs. Please return all sold and unsold tickets to the school asap. The raffle will be drawn at the Summer Fayre.

The Great Coleshill Primary School Bake Off

After the success of last year’s inaugural event, we will again be holding the Great Coleshill Primary School Bake Off. Year 6 are leading this event on behalf of the PTA and their enthusiasm is amazing. They have allocated themes for each year group and have sourced some great prizes. This event will be held w/c 24th June and details have already been sent out on the school app and newsletter. Cakes will be on sale throughout the week and at the fayre.

Sports Days

These take place on:

18th June PM – Nursery and Reception

20th June PM – Year 1 and Year 2

20th June AM – Juniors

The PTA will be selling refreshments and raffle tickets at the KS1 and KS2 sports day.

Leavers Party

This takes place for Year 6 pupils on 12th July 2019 from 6.30pm-8.30pm. Tickets will be available nearer the time.

Summer Disco

The Summer Disco will be held on Wednesday 17th July. Tickets will be available nearer the time.

Own Clothes Days

Friday 21st June 2019 is a free own clothes day, as a thank you for bringing in White Elephant donations on that day.

All of these events rely on a team of volunteers to ensure their success. We do appreciate that joining the PTA and coming to meetings does not suit everyone. However, we are always looking for people who can help us out at events.
