Induction September 2008

At the beginning of January 2008  we will  send out a letter inviting you to one of our induction afternoons. Induction  afternoons are on a Tuesday or a Wednesday from 2.00- 3.00. You and your child may come and spend an afternoon with us and join in with Reception activities.

If you  wish, while you are here, we can arrange for you to take a tour of the school so that you can see the older children at work.

Induction day 1

You will be invited to one of these afternoon sessions

Tuesday     15th January     2.00-3.00pm        

Wednesday 16th January     2.00-3.00pm       

On this afternoon we would like you to stay and play with your child. This will help them to feel comfortable and settled. If they  are coping well you may go and have a cup of tea in the staffroom and come back for them at 3.00pm.

Induction day 2

You will be invited to one of these afternoon sessions.

Tuesday  11th March    2.00-3.00pm        

Wednesday 12th March   2.00-3.00pm       

If your child is happy and confident go and have a cup of coffee or go and do some shopping in the town. If your child is in Sunflowers Nursery on  either of these afternoons and you feel that your child is confident enough  you may ask Nursery staff to bring them over and collect them at the end of the session.

You will be invited to one of these afternoon sessions.

Tuesday       22nd April    2.00-3.00pm       

 Wednesday  23rd April  2.00-3.00pm       

When you come on this day settle your child and then go and have a cup of coffee or go and do some shopping in the town. Again if your child is in Sunflowers Nursery on  either of these afternoons and you feel that your child is confident enough  you may ask Nursery staff to bring them over and collect them at the end of the session.

 

Induction day 4

You will be invited to one of these afternoon sessions.

Tuesday 17th June 2.00-3.00pm       

 Wednesday  18th June  2.00-3.00pm

Final Induction day and Meeting  for parents

Thursday 3rd July

10.00- 11.00am.    Final Induction day

This is the first time that children meet as a whole class.

6.00pm  Meeting for parents

At this meeting you will get final details about your child starting school. You can ask questions, sort out concerns  and buy uniform if you wish.
