Reception Induction Programme
Starting school is a very important step in a child's life. Giving them the opportunity to experience the new environment before actually starting school is an important way of building confidence and alleviating their fears.
If you are considering bring your child to Coleshill C.E. Primary School you may bring your child to look round the school at any time. Just give us a call on 01675 463672 or call in when you are passing.
Once we are informed by the LA that you have put our school as your first choice on the application form we will begin our induction programme. First you will be invited to a meeting with the headteacher who will give you upto date information about the school. Then you will be invited to bring your child to school for one afternoon each half term so that they can get to know the lay out of the school and meet the staff etc. The children come in in small groups to make it easier for us to focus on them and to create minimal disruption for the children already in reception. At first you may wish to stay with them but, by the last session, it's a good idea to let them stay by themselves. While you are waiting for them you may, if you wish, go into the town or have a cup of coffee in the staff room.
At the end of the summer term you will be invited to a morning session. On this morning the children will be together as a whole class for the first time. During the evening of the same day there will be a meeting with the headteacher. He will tell you about the final arrangements for the following September. You will also be able to buy uniform on that evening if you wish to. Uniform
