Health, welfare and pastoral care
The classteacher is concerned not only for the educational process but also for the pastoral care and social development of children. If there is a problem we like to involve parents at an early stage. We hope that you will let us know of anything that maybe upsetting or worrying your child at home. A new baby, a sudden death or just some upset at home can cause your child to behave differently at school, just as worry over school work or a fall out with a friend can cause you problems at home.

Medicines
Parents may come into school to give medicines. The headteacher is willing to keep certain medicines in his office, but it is the children's responsibility to remember to report to the office to take the required dose. Please ensure that you have completed a consent form prior to the administering of medicines. Inhalers are kept by the teachers in classrooms and are available to children at all times. Please make sure that we have a spare one (named) in school and that you have completed an asthma card available from the school office.
Headlice
Please advise office or classteacher if you find that your child has headlice so that we may inform other parents. Please try not to become too upset if this should happen to your child - although it is no consolation, headlice prefer clean heads! The school health service no longer carries out inspections but the local chemist will advise you of the current treatment.

Accidents / Illness
If your child has an accident and needs to be sent home or receive hospital treatment we will try to phone you or the emergency contact details you have supplied us with. Our first aiders will give first aid for minor injuries.

Smoking
We have a no smoking policy at all times.

Lateness
All children who are late must report to the office so that our registers are kept up-to-date. We will need to check them if we have to evacuate the premises.
