Discipline

Children are encouraged to be thoughtful and caring towards each other and to adults and to show respect for their environment. Older children are encouraged to help younger ones. We hope that all adults with whom children come into contact will set an example in this. We emphasis good manners and politeness between children and adults. We aim to treat each other with courtesy, care, consideration and respect. We are sure that you will support us in this.

Rules Agreed by Staff and Children

Walk quietly and sensibly in and around school.

Keep off grass/garden areas.

Go into assembly in silence, in single file, sit down and listen to the music.

Respect everyone, be polite and show good manners at all times.

Be kind and thoughtful to others.

Always try to be the best person you can.

Bullying is unacceptable!

Good behavior / good work / good effort will be rewarded.

We have introduced a house system in which children receive house points for good work or behaviour. Children also have the opportunity to earn 'gold time' - this benefits those children who always behave appropriately. Rewards are built up over the year.

NB. The same rules apply at lunchtime. A lunchtime detention system is in operation for persistent poor behaviour. Children who continue to be a problem at lunchtime will be asked to go home for a 'cooling off' period.

Parents will be informed of persistent poor behaviour and invited to discuss the situation. We would hope to work together to resolve any difficulties.
