Step inside our Foundation Stage!
The new building for Sunflowers Nursery and the Reception class was opened on Tuesday 9th November 2010 by The Right Reverand David Urquhart, the Bishop of Birmingham.
Our Foundation Stage caters for children from 2½ to 5 years old. We provide an early years education as set out by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which enables your child to learn through a range of activities.
Our purpose-built facilities represent a £300,000 investment in the school and include:
- Two classrooms, each with children’s toilets and basins, with a separate entrance from the main school.
- Zoned play areas, including areas for dressing up, wet play, snacks, reading, and role play.
- A fenced off play area exclusively for Nursery and Reception children, containing a gazebo, stage area, wooden train, climbing frame, role play shelter, canopy and sandpit.
- Interactive white boards and ICT facilities.
- Quiet rooms for small group sessions.
Our aim here at the school has always been to create an enthusiasm for learning that lasts a lifetime, and with this new building we are certainly giving the children the best start!
